Parish Council News

East Lindsey District Council are supporting The Great British Spring Clean which is the Keep Britain Tidy’s national campaign that normally runs over the last two weeks in March and through the first two weeks in April, with one simple ambition:

“To bring together people from across the country to clear up the litter that blights our towns, villages, countryside and coastline.”

The Parish Council have requested two litter pickers, bag rings and rolls of sacks.  The ELDC Green Litter bags can be left at the dog bin collection point at the end of Church Road. They have to be tied tight, and no black litter bags to be left in case they are mistaken for fly tipping.  Delivery of the equipment and green bags will take about a week.

To be covered by the Parish Council public liability insurance, please leave name and date when you are litter picking on my answer phone, if I am not available.

There are details available for General Guidance/Risk Assessment when litter picking.

My contact number is 01205 480410.

The A16 was cleared of litter a couple of weeks ago by a concerned villager. 42 dustbin liners of rubbish were collected from village sign to village sign, an approximate half mile length of road. Please join in the campaign to keep your village litter free. In spite of it being an offence to deposit litter, sadly it is amazing how much there is, even on the quietest rural roads.
